Guntur shocker: 22 YO student gang-raped in front of her fiancé

By Newsmeter Network Published on 21 Jun 2021 3:38 AM GMTGuntur: A 22-year-old student was allegedly gang-raped by two men in front of her fiancé near Seethanagaram under Tadepalli Mandal in Guntur district.
Though the incident took place on Saturday night, it came to light on Sunday when the victim along with her family members approached the police seeking severe action against the accused.
Police said that the victim along with her boyfriend went to the riverbed near Seethanagaramto spend some time together before their marriage. Four tipsy youth from neighbouring villages surrounded the couple and started harassing the girl.
When the couple resisted, they tied the boy and beat him up. Later, they stripped the girl and two of them allegedly raped her in front of her friend. Later, they left the place by sailing in a boat towards Vijayawada.
Based on the victim's complaint, Director General of Police (DGP) of Andhra Pradesh Gowtham Sawang formed a special team to nab the accused. Police suspect that the blade or ganja batch might be involved in the heinous crime.
The DGP ordered the police to intensify the security at the Pushkarghat to protect the visitors from the anti-social elements. He also asked cops to round up the people who consume liquor and ganja at the spot.
Condemning the crime against the student, Andhra Pradesh Mahila Commission Chairperson Vasireddy Padma asked the police to nab the accused. She said that she will meet the victim, who is admitted to the hospital for medical tests and treatment.
It may be recalled that in April, a 21-year old girl, who went to a Beach in East Godavari district with her friend was allegedly gang-raped by three youngsters under Allavaram police station limits in the district.
The incident took place in the last week of April 2021, and it came to light on May 13, 2021, when the victim approached Allavaram police station in the district after one of the accused threatened to upload her nude pictures on social media platforms.
