Guntur woman escapes with minor injuries in acid attack

Guntur: A 27-year-old woman was attacked with acid by an unidentified person on Thursday at Madugula village in Gurazala mandal in Guntur district. The woman suffered minor injuries.

According to the police, an unknown person came to the woman's house and asked her for water. When she went inside to bring water, he threw acid on her and escaped. Soon after the incident, her family members took her to the hospital.

It was revealed that the victim was allegedly in an illicit relationship with a man named Shaik Nazar for the past seven years. He was suspicious of her and started torturing her in the last few weeks.

A case has been filed by the police and an investigation is on. Shaik Nazar has been taken into custody.
