Amaravati: Heavy rains are expected over the next two days in several parts of Andhra Pradesh, particularly Vizianagaram, Alluri Seetharamaraju, Visakhapatnam and Anakapalle districts.

According to the Meteorological Centre, Amaravati, an upper air cyclonic circulation persists over the Myanmar coast and adjoining northeast Bay of Bengal, extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level and tilting southwestward with height.

Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the north Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the upper air cyclonic circulation lying over the northwest Bay of Bengal off the north Odisha coast and adjoining areas, up to 1.5 km above mean sea level, has merged with the trough extending from the Myanmar coast and northeast Bay of Bengal to the north Odisha coast at the same level.

This development is also likely to trigger the formation of a low-pressure system over the north Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours. Alongside, strong coastal winds at a speed of 40–50 kmph are likely.
