How DLF street's Varalakshmi tiffins owner landed in drugs case
The three accused got arrested while they had planned to meet in Mokila police station limits to divide the illegal consignment.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 12 Sep 2023 9:57 AM GMTHyderabad: Prabhakar Reddy, owner of one of the famous food point-Varalakshmi Tiffins in DLF street, along with two other persons, were arrested by the Hyderabad police for allegedly smuggling illegal drugs.
The cops seized Rs 14 lakh worth of illegal drugs: 48 grams of MDMA, another 8 grams of crushing MDMA and 51 grams of cocaine, Rs 97,500 cash, three cars, and five mobile phones.
The three accused got arrested while they had planned to meet in Mokila police station limits to divide the illegal consignment. The other two accused are Anuradha, consumer-cum-peddler, and Venkata Shiva Sai Kumar, owner of Palleturu Pullatlu.
According to the DCP Rajendarnagar police Jagadeeswar Reddy, the prime accused Anuradha who is the consumer-cum-peddler, had been procuring drugs for a few years in Goa. She made friends with Nigerian-based drug peddler James and started transporting the drugs to Hyderabad via public transport.
During this time, Anuradha became acquainted with Prabhakar and Venkata and used to provide them with cocaine, MDMA, ecstasy pills and crystals. All three accused and some other friends used to purchase drugs from unknown persons in Goa, transport the drugs to Hyderabad, and sell the same to the public. Procuring 1 gram of drugs for Rs 10,000 from the Nigerian smuggler, she used to sell the same drugs for Rs 20,000.
Prabhakar Reddy's connection to drug business
Anuradha, who got acquainted with one of her neighbor who also procures drugs first introduced Prabhakar Reddy, who is the owner of Varalaxmi Tiffin centre. While she disclosed about the drug consumption and supplying channel to Hyderabad, Prabhakar Reddy also decided to sell drugs.
Anuradha used to visit Goa and enquired about the drug prices in Goa and informed the same to Prabhakar Reddy. They then hatched a plan to purchase the drugs in low prices at Goa and transport the same to Hyderabad by Private Bus and sell it with high prices to the known persons to earn more money. In this process, they have contacted their friends through whatsapp/snap chat and supplying drugs in Hyderabad.
When Prabhakar was requested to help Venkata to start palleturu pullatlu beside the Varalakshmi tiffin center, they became friends. Venkata started purchasing drugs for his personal use.
Team of SOT Rajendranagar staff apprehended three persons along with three cars who are trying to escape from there by seeing police. Police found some small packets of cocaine drugs, MDMA Ecstasy pills, and MDMA Crystal in the car.
The police registered a case against them under the NDPS Act.
