Introduce employment-oriented courses in state colleges: Jagan to AP higher education dept

By Newsmeter Network Published on 19 Jan 2023 12:42 PM GMTAmaravati: To further strengthen the curriculum of conventional degree courses, Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) department to come up with employment-oriented courses that can be offered under a choice-based credit system (CBCS) and credits can be offered through hybrid learning mode (online) through reputed partners along with clearing qualifying exams as part of the curriculum.
A committee with young educationists will be constituted to study the curriculum of programmes such as BSc Management and BSc Finance offered by international institutes and universities and how various verticals such as risk analysis, real estate, asset management, risk management, and insurance can be made part of the curriculum to strengthen all conventional degree courses. By June 2023, the revised curriculum with integrated non-convention verticals under CBCS in hybrid learning mode shall be made available for all the colleges across the state.
Compulsory NAAC accreditation in 3 years
The quality assurance control (QAC) under the APSCHE will further handhold colleges to achieve NAAC/NBA accreditation phase-wise in the next three years by categorising parameters. The APSCHE will work to bring in necessary changes to the rules/Acts to bring uniform policy. The Chief Minister directed the officials to scrutinize two major factors in focusāfacilities provided in colleges and faculty management. Colleges that cannot get NAAC/NBA accreditation within the stipulated time will be closed.
The CM directed the officials to ensure that the GER ratio is further improved. A consultancy may be engaged to study and identify the gaps to provide information calculating GER.
