Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy requested Union Minister for Transport Nitin Gadkari to support Visakhapatnam - Bhogapuram beach corridor project for better connectivity and boosting Tourism.
Jagan met the Union Minister on the second day of his two-day Delhi visit and held discussions regarding key road projects of the state.
Chief Minister said the construction work on the western bypass in Vijayawada is going on at a brisk pace. He urged the Union Minister to take measures to link this road with CRDA grid Road.
He said the state government is ready to give land for Multi-Model Logistic Park related to Vijayawada western bypass. He urged the Union Minister to help in preparing DPR and move forward in this regard. He also urged him to expedite work on Vijayawada eastern bypass.
Jagan said Central Transportation Department has sanctioned 20 ROBs for the state. He urged the Union Minister to sanction another 17 ROBs for the state.
Jagan also requested the Union Minister to take steps for the construction of 1,723 km of national highways connecting various tourist destinations, industrial models, and special economic zones in the state. He called for the construction of the roads connecting newly formed districts.
Chief Minister said the state tourism department has sent proposals for the construction of 14 ropeways across the state. He said two proposals have been approved. He requested the Union Minister to sanction the remaining proposals.
