Jagan goes on inauguration spree, launches 6 projects worth Rs. 4,000 cr

Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy laid the foundation and inaugurated marque companies in the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster at Vikrutamala village on 23 June. AP Electronics and IT Agency (APEITA) signed MoUs with POTPL Electronics, a subsidiary of TCL Corporation, Zetwerk Technologies, Techbulls, and SmartDV Technologies.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said a total of six projects – with over Rs. 4,000 crore investment and creating 20,000 jobs – have come to Andhra Pradesh, of which three companies have been inaugurated and the foundation laid for another three companies. In regard to the companies that were inaugurated, he said TCL had invested Rs. 1,230 crores to manufacture TV panels and mobile display units by employing over 3,200 people.

Jagan also inaugurated Foxlink manufacturing unit that manufactures USB cables and circuit boards. It has been set up with an investment of Rs. 1,050 crores and will create 1,200 jobs. He inaugurated Sunny Opotech which manufactures camera lenses for cell phones. It has invested Rs. 280 crores and created employment for 1,200 people.

The Chief Minister laid the foundation of Dixon Technologies unit that manufactures TV sets. It will invest Rs. 110 crores and generate 850 jobs. He also laid the foundation of another unit of Foxlink India Pvt. Ltd. That will invest Rs. 300 crores and create 1,200 jobs.
