Party said the groundswell of support is an acknowledgment of policies of the government and has blown the Opposition away even before it could feel the wind.
Speaking to the media, YSRCP leaders said the welfare schemes and fulfillment of promises by the Chief Minister blunted the false propaganda of Opposition.
Government Advisor (Public Affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said people have blessed YSRCP with an overwhelming mandate as they have trusted the welfare activities implemented by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in last twenty months.
Terming the ULB results as people's victory, Sajjala thanked them for their trust in Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said the people have voted for YSRCP in 2019 with 'hope' as they were fed up with Naidu. He said Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy didn't campaign for ULB elections, haven't conducted a press conference and didn't release any video message seeking votes as he was confident that performance fetches votes.
He slammed Naidu for cursing people of the state before elections and leaving for Hyderabad on the day of results by deserting his cadre.
YSRCP General Secretary and MP Vijayasai Reddy said the results have taught a lesson to TDP which has been propagating that the ruling doesn't have a grip in urban areas. He said they have no doubt that people will support the governance of YSRCP for another 25 years. Recalling the allegations of TDP about EVMs in the 2019 general elections, he said YSRCP has won in ballot voting.
Municipal Administration Minister Botsa Satyanarayana said YSRCP has won with an absolute majority in all the municipalities except one municipality each in YSR Kadapa and Anantapur districts.
Though TDP has won 12 wards and YSRCP won 11 wards in Mydukur municipality, YSRCP candidate will become Chairperson with Ex Officio votes. He said the absolute mandate in ULB elections has proved the fact that the people in urban areas also endorsed the transparent, non-corrupt, dedicated governance of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
He said the YSRCP government has released a welfare calendar and strictly implemented it.
He said Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh tried to provoke people and, politicized Amaravati and Vizag Steel plant. "Yet people voted for YSRCP as they lost the people's trust. YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will decide the candidates for Chairpersons and Mayors to Municipalities and Corporations," he said.
Hailing Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for his good governance, APIIC Chairperson RK Roja said people have reposed trust in the part and the government.
MLA Ambati Rambabu came down heavily on Naidu for provoking the people of Guntur and Vijayawada. He said absolute mandate in ULB elections is a proof that people have supported decentralized development and the concept of three capitals.
Terming Pawan Kalyan and Nara Lokesh as tourists, the MLA said YSRCP would clean sweep upcoming ZPTC, MPTC elections, and Tirupati by-poll.
