Mr. Murthy said it was regrettable and objectionable that the CM and his henchmen were stooping to such levels and threatening the prestigious family of late Ramanaidu. Vijay Sai is acting like a shameless broker and trying to grab 34.44 acres of the studio, the TDP leader claimed.
During a press conference here, Mr. Murthy demanded the Jagan Reddy government explain why it was systematically destroying all chances for growth and development in the steel city. He said the Chandrababu Naidu government had allotted land for the Ramanaidu Studio in 2002 in order to usher in a new era of development in Vizag and claimed that several artists and workers are finding job opportunities in the film industry. However, now the Jagan Reddy regime is acting for its own selfish and vested interests, he alleged.
The TDP leader recalled that the YSRCP leaders had already grabbed the Karthikavanam lands and the Baypark was handed over to Vijay Sai Reddy's son-in-law while the Daspalla owners were also being threatened. The YSRCP leaders have set their sights on the Waltair Club lands as well while the government lands in Vizag are being mortgaged and the lands allotted to Lulu Group is being sold, Mr. Murthy claimed.
He deplored that the Vizag residents were living in constant fear of land grabbing and encroachment by the YSRCP leaders. He said the ruling party is trying to grab prime lands belonging to a church and alleged that an additional commissioner was transferred for not listening to their illegal commands. Jagan and Vijay Sai came to Vizag only to loot and destroy the peaceful and beautiful city, he added.
The TDP leader asked whether the Chief Minister had unquenchable greed for amassing illegal wealth. The CM has already amassed lakhs of crores of illegal assets, he said, adding that Jagan should stop the mindless destruction of public property in the port city.
