Vijayawada: Rebel YSRCP leader and Member of Parliament from Narasapuram K Raghu Ram Krishna Raju on Wednesday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy wants to physically eliminate him.

In his letter, the MP said after he filed a petition to cancel the bail granted to Jagan, he has been receiving threat calls.

"Since Tuesday, I am getting several abusive and threat calls," said Raghu Ram Krishna Raju.

Raja noted that he is not worried about the calls but concerned with the criminal track record of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. "For the last few weeks, he has tried to register several false and frivolous cases against me. Now I had come to know from reliable sources that he is trying to physically eliminate me by using his contacts of his native Kadapa district who are professional killers," said the MP.

He requested the Prime Minister to take care of his security at his Delhi residence. As of now, he has been provided with Y category security in Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh.

Earlier on March 19, he met President Ram Nath Kovind and alleged that the Andhra Pradesh government is filing fake police cases against him. He blamed Achanta MLA and state Housing Minister Cherukuvada Sriranganadha Raju for allegedly orchestrating the police cases against him.

He alleged that Sriranganadha Raju provoked many people in Achanta constituency to file false cases against him leading to seven FIRs.

Raju claimed that he is being harassed for questioning the alleged misdeeds of the YSRCP government.

In August 2020, He wrote to union home secretary Ajay Bhalla that his two cell phones were being snooped by the intelligence wing of Andhra Pradesh.

He also alleged that he was getting threat calls from strange numbers displaying codes of Romania, Denmark, Switzerland, South Korea and Spain.

The rebel MP noted that tapping of telephones is a violation of Articles 14, 19, and 21 of the Indian Constitution. He said that he has observed disturbance while speaking on his phones for the past two months.

The MP recently faced the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raids on his offices and residences for allegedly defaulting on bank loans worth hundreds of crores of rupees.
