Amaravati: Ahead of the 2024 elections, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy-led state Cabinet dissolved on 7 April. A Cabinet meeting was held on Thursday afternoon, after which all the 24 ministers submitted their resignation letters to the CM at the state Secretariat.
On Wednesday, Jagan had met Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan. The new Cabinet is likely to have representations from each of the newly-formed 26 districts. Sources said the CM is likely to meet the Governor on Friday to hand over the final list of names of ministers who will be sworn in, likely on 11 April. Except for five-six ministers from the present Cabinet, all others are likely to be new faces.
In a video, former minister Perni Nani said all 24 ministers have resigned following CM's wish to strengthen the party by assigning key responsibilities to experienced leaders for the 2024 elections. "The entire Cabinet has welcomed the decision," he said.
