Jilted husband among five arrested for kidnapping trader in Vizianagaram
Police on Tuesday arrested five persons for kidnapping a trader in Vizianagaram.

The accused have been identified as Pattimeeda Siva Surya (22), his father P Sriram Murthy, and friends M Hari Krishna, Vamsi, and TV Rao.
DSP of Vizianagaram P Anil said Siva Surya, a native of Rajam Town in Srikakulam district, worked in a gold jewelry shop in Vizianagaram Town. Siva Surya was in a relationship with Pooja, who is the daughter of Narapath Singh Purohit, a fancy store owner.
Siva Surya married Pooja in May 2021 at Registrar's Office against the wishes of Narapath Singh Purohit.
Angry over the marriage, Purohit, who is a native of Rajasthan, filed a petition in the local court in the home state alleging that Siva Surya has kidnapped his daughter.
Based on the search warrant, Rajasthan Police along with local police carried out searches at Siva Suraya's house in Rajam when he was away on August 15.
Police also took Pooja along with them on the pretext that she has to be produced in Rajasthan court. However, angry over the incident, Siva Surya decided to take revenge and bring back Pooja.
Siva Surya, along with his father and friends went to Narapath Singh Purohit's house. Since it was locked, Siva Surya and his associates went to Purohit's shop, but could not find him.
Later, Siva Surya kidnapped Dhunduram Chowdhary alias Ramesh, who is also a trader and close aide of Purohit.
However, Dinesh Diwali, who works in Purohit's shop, informed the police about the incident. Vizianagaram police led by inspector J Muralilaunched a search operation and rescued Ramesh within 24 hours.
