Mangalagiri CID arrested Indupudi Sudhakar, chairman of Smart Yojana Welfare Society, in Anakapalli on charges of cheating people in the name of jobs. He was produced in Kakinada court.
The CID said the case was registered after G Ravi Kumar of East Godavari lodged a complaint. Kumar was allegedly cheated by Society.

They collected Rs 300 crore from 7,000 unemployed persons. Later they issued fake appointment letters and ID cards and paid salaries for some time. They stopped payment of wages and disappeared.
The CID examined 50 victims before arresting the accused. A case was registered under sections 420 and others at CID, Mangalagiri.
