Kancharapalem traffic constable saves accident victim with CPR; video goes viral

Visakhapatnam: Timely response by the police in both the Telugu states is saving many lives during road accidents and emergency situations. One such timely response by a traffic constable from the Kancharapalem traffic police station in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh saved a man who met with an accident.

On 25 February, a man who was riding a two-wheeler suffered head and leg injuries after he was hit by another two-wheeler at R&B junction in Visakhapatnam. The man collapsed and fell unconscious. He was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) treatment by Kancharapalem traffic constable R. Chandramohan. After gaining consciousness, the injured man was immediately shifted to the nearest hospital.



After the video went viral on social media, the traffic cop got appreciation from the Andhra Pradesh police department and the general public.

A similar incident was reported in Telangana on 24 February when a traffic constable, Raja Sekhar of Rajendranagar police station under Cyberbad commissionerate, became a lifesaver by performing CPR. He saved a person who was found unconscious on the side of the road. The person, Balaji, suffered cardiac arrest while getting off the bus in Rajendranagar.

The quick actions of Raja Shekhar earned him appreciation from Telangana health minister Harish Rao. The Cyberabad police department, through Twitter, appreciated his bravery.
