Khaidi No.6093: Vijay Sai Reddy asks VP to take action against TDP MP Ravindra Kumar

Vijayawada: Member of the Rajya Sabha and YSRC leader and confidant of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, V. Vijaya Sai Reddy had dashed off a letter to the chairman of Rajya Sabha and vice-president of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu, requesting to take action against Member of Rajya Sabha, Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar of TDP, citing violation of rules of conduct and procedure by the TDP MP.

In his letter, Vijaya Sai Reddy said that Ravindra Kumar, in his motion of Thanks to the President's address on 4 January, flouted many rules of procedure and conduct of business in the Rajya Sabha. It is unfortunate that most of the statements that he made have not been expunged and are available for public consumption freely.

What irked the YSRCP top brass was how the TDP leader identified AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. In the address, Ravindra Kumar said, "The State Government is not taking proper steps to give serious thought to it as the incumbent Chief Minister is involved in so many CBI and ED cases which are being inquired into and are pending before the court of law."

The controversy kicked off when the TDP MP said, "Sir (referring to the Vice President) recently the Andhra Pradesh State Government passed an Ordinance affecting major changes in the Municipal Corporation Act, 1964. This has been done in the spirit of local self-government. But here the ulterior motive is to secure more loans from the Central Government."

"Till the publication of the letter of the Chief Minister, I was not having much information about him. But immediately thereafter, I became furious to know about it. Subsequently, I was told that if I go on-site 'Google' and type "Kaidi No.6093", I can get much information. Accordingly, I did the same thing and thereafter I got very disturbing information," said Ravindra Kumar

He added that a person, who is under the cloud of charges in a criminal court, is provided with the authority of law to pursue his anger on an organ of the State that is, judiciary. His conduct should certainly be debated before the constitutional courts for his continuance and his decisions taken during this period of governance.'

Responding to this MP Vijay Sai Reddy in his letter enclosed a list of statements along with the relevant rules violated by the TDP MP. He requested Naidu to take appropriate action against him at the earliest.

He said the statements are offensive to the proceedings of the State Legislature of Andhra Pradesh as well as a bad reflection upon the conduct of persons in high authority. There are clear-cut violations of Rule 238 (5) and 238 (3), Vijaya Sai Reddy said.

The TDP MP's speech is also a look into the malicious politics of the TDP whose members have most recently met the Union home minister and misled the government of India by alleging communal violence based on outdated evidence, he said.
