Hyderabad: The Sleuths of Cyber Crime wing of Rachakonda Police arrested a man for spreading fake voice message via WhatsApp in connection with corona disease under the National Disaster Management Act.

The cops have booked Sadik Basha under section 270 of Indian Penal Code & Section 54 of National Disaster Management Act.
According to the cops, the accused who is an electrician by profession and hails from Adoni Town of Kurnool district. On the 13th of December at around 9:30 P.M, he received two voice messages via WhatsApp from an unknown Whatsapp number.
'The content of the message is in connection with the ongoing Corona pandemic disease which was maligning and spreading panic in the society. After receiving the above voice messages he immediately forwarded them to his friends, relatives and other contacts through his WhatsApp thus creating panic, which may lead to disturbances and likely to occur untoward incidents in the society, violating the rules and regulations under national disaster management act' Cops said.
The Rachakonda police have appealed to netizens not to forward such panic messages, as they may become viral and create disturbances to peace and order of the public.
