Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams will release Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) tokens online for devotees from September 26.
The TTD has decided to release 8000 tokens a day. These can be booked online from 9 am on September 25. The tokens are free of cost.
Talking to newsmen, TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy said the decision to move the SSD tokens from offline to online was taken in view of the Covid-19 protocol.
Subba Reddy said the decision was taken to mitigate the overcrowding. "If we issue free darshan tokens offline, we can't control the crowd," he said.
As such, the offline counters at Srinivasam where free darshan tokens were issued to the devotees will be closed from September 26.
YV Subba Reddy appealed to the devotees to carry either their COVID-19 negative test report or the 2-dose vaccination report while coming for darshan to Tirumala.
Meanwhile, TTD EO Dr. KS Jawahar Reddy, who inspected the Sapthagiri Gau Pradakshina shala at Alipiri on Wednesday, told reporters that chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy will inaugurate the first of its kind center for cow worship during the annual Brahmotsavams eve.
