Tirumala: The Maha Samprokshana ritual at Jammu’s Sri Venkateswara temple will be observed on 8 June, and the devotees who are visiting Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra can also have the blessings of Sri Balaji Venkateswara at SV temple.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board chief said TTD Trust Board chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy along with officials inspected the SV temple at Majeen in Jammu on Tuesday.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Reddy said TTD has taken up the construction of Srivari temples across various cities for the benefit of devotees who could not visit Tirumala.

“So far, we have constructed temples at Visakhapatnam, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bhubaneshwar and temples are coming up at Mumbai, Raipur, and Ahmedabad in the near future. Apart from cities, to take forward Hindu Sanatana Dharma Prachara to the grassroots level, we have also constructed Lord Venkateswara (Balaji) temples at Agency and remote areas like Seetampeta, Rampachodavaram, etc., in Andhra Pradesh,” he said.

A temple in Jammu

The government of Jammu has also allotted over 62 acres of land and the temple was constructed at Rs. 30 crores. Besides the main temple, sub-shrines, Potu-kitchen area, Annaprasadam counter, and parking lots will also come up soon.



Maha Samprokshanam, the religious event, will last for five days from 4–8 June with Ankurarpanam on 3 June.

On 8 June, Vigraha Pratistha, Maha Samprokshanam will be performed at the auspicious time. The devotees will be allowed to have the Lord’s darshan from noon onwards from 8 May. As the temple is located away from the city, TTD has asked the government of Jammu to provide round-the-clock security.
