Man attempts to murder fiancée in Vizianagaram suspecting her fidelity
A man attempted to kill his fiancée while she was asleep by setting her on fire suspecting that she was having an affair, at Chowdivada village under Pusapatirega police station limits in Vizianagaram district on the early hours of Friday.

The girl, along with her elder sister and nephew, who came to her rescue, were injured in the incident.
The injured were identified as Gali Ramulamma, 21, her elder sister Baki Santoshi 23, and her nephew Baki Aravind 8.
Superintendent of police Deepika M. Patil said Ramulamma and the accused, Alla Rambabu of Srikakulam district, were in a relationship for the last two years and their family members fixed their engagement in August and marriage in October. But, he began to suspect that Ramulamma was having an affair with someone and cancelled the marriage. But Ramulamma's family members put pressure on him to marry her.
Developing a grudge against the family, Rambabu went to their house on Friday and doused petrol on Ramulamma and set her aflame. Her elder sister Santoshi and her son Arvind came to her rescue and suffered burn injuries. Santoshi through Disha SOS called the police who rushed to the spot and quickly evacuated them to the hospital. The trio received 10 to 20 percent burn injuries but were declared safe. We have nabbed the accused too, the police added.
Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy enquired about the incident with the Vizianagaram police and directed the officials to shift the injured to the Vizag city for better medical care. Minister Botsa Satyanarayana, deputy chief minister Pamula Pushpa Srivani, collector A. Surya Kumari, Police Chief Deepika Patil and senior officials visited the hospital and spoke to the victim. They assured the family members that the government would provide all help and ensured good treatment. They said a chargesheet will be filed in a week's time.
