Mark calendar for twin Brahmotsavams at Tirumala; heavy rush expected
Salakatla Brahmotsavams is scheduled between September 18-26 and the Navaratri Brahmotsavams will be from October 15 to 23 this year
By Newsmeter Network Published on 31 July 2023 6:50 PM ISTTirumala: The dates for the twin Brahmotsavams of Tirumala have been announced. Salakatla Brahmotsavams is scheduled between September 18-26 and the Navaratri Brahmotsavams will be from October 15 to 23 this year.
Being Adhikamasam, TTD planned the twin Brahmotsavams for September and October. On Monday, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams EO AV Dharma Reddy held the first review meeting with all the departments of TTD in Tirumala.
āWe commenced our arrangements one and a half months in advance. After a fortnight, we will review the update with the district administration,ā EO said, speaking to the media.
Briefing on the points discussed during the review, the EO said that important days in the annual Brahmotsavams include Dhwajarohanam on September 18. The Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy will be attending the event where he will present silk clothes to Sri Venkateswara Swamy on behalf of the state government.
The other important days include Garuda Seva on September 22, Golden Chariot on September 23, Rathotsavam on September 25, Chakrasnanam and Dhwajavarohanam on September 26, the final day of the annual religious fete.
Similarly, the Navaratri Brahmotsavams will start on October 15, followed by Garuda Vahanam on October 19, Pushpaka Vimanam on October 20, Golden Chariot on October 22 and the fete will conclude with Chakra Snanam on October 23.
A detailed review of the engineering works, annaprasadam and darshan arrangements, accommodation and security protocol was discussed. Officials from TTDās vigilance and security wing discussed the arrangements with officials from police, kalyanakatta, transport, HDPP, garden, medical, health, paraphernalia, and srivari sevaks.
As the Purattasi month coincides with both the brahmotsavams, a heavy pilgrim rush is expected this year. The holy month commences on September 18 and concludes on October 17. The Purattasi Saturdays will occur on September 23, 30 and October 7, 14. Hence, the officials concerned are directed to plan accordingly, ensuring hassle-free darshan to devotees during these two brahmotsavams and Purattasi Saturdays.
