Mired in dispute, four of family jump into Godavari; two bodies fished out

East Godavari: A family of four ended their life by jumping into the Godavari from Chinchinada Bridge.

Police suspect that family disputes might have been the reason for this extreme step.

Noticing the bike, footwear, and clothes on the bridge, police launched a search operation and fished out two bodies.

Before taking the extreme step, the woman had written a note alleging that some people have cheated on her.

Police said Kanchi Satish (38), his wife Sandhya (28), son Jaswin (4) and Bindu Sri Durga (2) went missing on July 30 and the relatives of the family lodged a complaint with the police on July 31. Later police found the bike and clothes of the missing persons on Chinchinada Bridge.

Police launched a search operation and found the bodies of Satish and Bindu Sri Durga on Sunday. Satish had returned from the Gulf on July 20 apparently to settle a family dispute.

His wife Sandhya was staying with her mother at Achanta. Satish called his wife Sandhya and children to his relative's house in Velivala in Palacole Mandal on July 29 and they stayed till the night of July 31.

At 11 PM on July 31, Satish along with his family left the village saying that they would go to Guntur. Nobody has heard from them since then. When the police found the belongings of the family, the relatives lodged a complaint. Palacole rural police are investigating the case.
