Andhra Pradesh: A first-of-its-kind Model G 20 Summit was held at the SRIT College in Ananthapur, Andhra Pradesh. The event was organized on International Women’s Day. It is to note that India is the host of the G20 Summit.

This program was jointly organized by the host institution Srinivasa Ramanujan Institute of Technology (SRIT), Ananthapur; Yes We Can Youth Organisation; Nicholas Social Welfare Society; King’s College London Alumni Community in Hyderabad; in association with Myriad Corp and collaboration with the United Nations in India.

Innovation Technological change and Education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls. A gender-responsive approach to Innovation, Technology, and Digital Education can increase the awareness of women and girls regarding their rights and civic engagement.

Advancements in digital technology offer immense opportunities to address development and humanitarian challenges and to achieve the 2030 sustainable development goals.

Students and youth across the southern states have taken part in this event representing the G20 nationalities and participating in the policy dialogues on the theme “Bridging the digital divide: for a mental health well-being” and “Advancing women in innovation and technology”.

This event not only provided a platform for the youth and students belonging to the rural and semi-urban areas to participate in a global event but also enabled them to experience international diplomacy and policy-making on contemporary global issues with a local understanding of the socio-political, economic, and cultural conditions of the G20 nations.

“A consensus on the program theme would be developed in a few months in due consultation with the stakeholders, participating delegates, and with the support of local think tanks, policy experts, civil societies, and academicians,” said King’s College London Alumni Leader Stephen Anurag. Mysore Subramanya Rao, Director, DoPT, Ministry of Personnel, shared the importance of students taking part in international affairs and diplomacy.

G20 India panelist and Adjunct Fellow at RIS New Delhi Prof E Hari Babu chaired a panel and discussed with the delegates on how innovation must not be limited to technology but also carry parameters of infrastructure and industry by highlighting the resources of the States.
