Visakhapatnam: Srikakulam police on Friday arrested a hunter for vandalizing idols at Padmanabha Swamy Temple in Karakavalasa village.

The accused has been identified as Cherukupalle Sanjay, 19. Hailing from Yrigam village, he has been working as a daily wager.

Three idols of Lakshmidevi, Lord Vinayaka, and Durga were vandalized a few days ago.

DSP of Srikakulam M Mahendra said Sanjay has been hunting skunks, mongoose, snakes, and tortoises. He developed a grudge against the committee members after they objected to his hunting activities.

He told police that when failed in hunting, he tried to rob the hundi. After finding it empty, he damaged the idols out of frustration.
