`My goal is to eliminate poverty’: Jagan announces to increase pension to Rs 3000

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy said his government would increase the pension to Rs. 3000 by January 2024 and then contest the poll.

During the discussion on the Motion of Thanks to Governor’s address in the legislative assembly on Wednesday, Jagan Mohan Reddy said they have fulfilled 98.5 percent of the promises in the manifesto

"After we came to power, over 1.50 lakh new MSMEs have come up in the state, and government stands by them. Further, in terms of employment, government jobs went up to more than 6 lakh from 4 lakh in TDP rule," he added.

Explaining poverty reduction measures, Jagan Mohan Reddy said: “Only the opposition talks about things like Microsoft, Bill Gates, and the bullet train. But I remain grounded. My goal is to eliminate poverty. And this is my economics, and this is my politics."
