Naidu looted public money, swindled government lands: Botsa

Visakhapatnam: Minister for Municipal Administration Botsa Satyanarayana lambasted TDP leadership for making baseless allegations against YSRCP leaders.

Botsa said that the entire TDP regime under the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu is corrupt. He said they looted public money, swindled government lands, and ignored public welfare. He asked whether any poor has been benefitted during Chandrababu's rule other than betrayal. The minister referred to land records in Visakhapatnam that were tampered with during the Hudhud cyclone.

He said it was late chief minister YS Rajashekar Reddy who developed Visakhapatnam on modern lines. Botsa said pharmacy SEZ is aimed at developing the North Andhra region.

Recalling the large-scale corruption in the TIDCO housing project during TDP rule, the minister said TDP leaders looted huge money in the name of houses for the poor. "Not a single house was allotted to the poor. Chandrababu Naidu left a huge debt," he said.

However, seeing the plight of the poor, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy promised 30 lakh houses with an area of 300 sqft free of cost. "TDP leaders went to court stalling the programme. Chandrababu plundered the state. The Rs 900 crore underground drainage project proposed during the TDP government has turned out to be a white elephant. It has left Rs 400 crore in debts and put GVMC assets at stake. Chandrababu government did not act responsibly in executing Visakha metro project," he said.

Botsa clarified that the state government has received 72 percent of Rs 3767 Crore under Centre's Amrut scheme for developing Visakhapatnam as a smart city. He said Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was paying special attention to developing Visakhapatnam as an executive capital.
