Pulivendula: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy laid the foundation for Nutech Biosciences Unit at the Andhra Pradesh Centre for Advanced Research on Livestock (AP CARL) on 7 July. The Chief Minister said the centre will be of immense help to farmers and impart knowledge on natural farming. He said training in natural farming is necessary from the village level and said natural farming methods will be integrated with Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs) to create awareness among farmers. He stressed on the need to adopt natural farming for a happy and healthy lifestyle.

The research carried out at the academy will help farmers improve their productivity and earn better profits. Each RBK will have master trainers to impart knowledge on scientific methods and support farmers practising natural farming methods, Jagan said.

"Of the 50 lakh farmers in the state, about six lakh are engaged in natural farming. Further, RBKs will be turned into certifying agencies for natural farming products which could gain a premium price and make other farmers join the trend," added Jagan.
