Charing a review meeting, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy asked officials to refrain from load shedding under the garb of shortage. Jagan instructed the Energy Department to ensure that there is no power shortage in the summer season and enough coal stocks are maintained to run thermal stations.

Officials informed Jagan that they are strictly implementing the orders and providing agricultural connections without delay. About 1.06 lakh agricultural power connections have already been provided in the current fiscal. An additional 20,000 connections would be given by March end.
"Quality electricity was being supplied to the consumers as per the instructions. Around 100 new substations would start functioning by March end," said an official from the Energy Department. Around 2.18 lakh power connections have been provided to houses being constructed for the poor across the state.
