Orvakallu Industrial Park: Buggana Rajendranath to launch pipeline works worth Rs 288cr
Orvakal Mega Industrial Hub is proposed to be established on 10,257 acres within 11 villages of Orvakal mandal.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 6 Oct 2022 1:03 PM GMTAmaravati: Andhra Pradesh finance minister Buggana Rajendranath will inaugurate the water storage and external water supply works at Orvakallu Industrial Park in Kurnool district on 7 October. Kurnool district in-charge minister Buggana will lay the foundation stone for the pipeline works worth Rs. 288 crores, which are undertaken by the Andhra Pradesh Industrial and Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC).
The one TMC of water required for the development of the park will be utilised from the backwater flood waters of the Srisailam project. An arrangement has been made to supply this water for 100 days a year through a pipeline to OMIH via Muchumarri. The entire project, including the installation of reservoirs, intake well, pipeline, and motors, will be completed in two years at a cost of Rs. 428 crores.
Hyderabad-based KLSR Infratech Company and GV Pratap Reddy Partnership Company have secured the first phase of water supply works in the tender process as part of the Orvakal Node development works in the Hyderabad-Bangalore Industrial Corridor (HBIC).
Speaking about the project, minister for industries Gudivada Amarnath said the state government is taking steps to transform Rayalaseema into an industrial zone.
APIIC has prepared a plan to develop Orvakallu Industrial Park as a multi-product park with the funds from the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT), a Central government agency. This is expected to provide employment to 62,000 people directly and 77,000 people indirectly. The minister also said the park will see industries with an investment of Rs. 37,300 crores.
Orvakal Mega Industrial Hub is proposed to be established on 10,257 acres within 11 villages of Orvakal mandal. APIIC has also prepared the electricity supply arrangements for the industries to be set up in Orvakal Mega Industrial Hub. "A power sub-station with a capacity of 220/132/33 KW shall also be made available shortly," the minister added.
