Hyderabad: Taking a giant step towards ensuring the welfare of the SC, ST, BC and minority communities and women in Andhra Pradesh, the YSRCP government led by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy decided to cater 78 per cent and 60.47 per cent of the 86 mayor and chairperson posts to the two groups respectively. This means that out of the 86 posts, 52 will be held by women.
Jagan's government has made history by allocating 50 per cent of temple boards, agricultural marketing committees, nomination posts, nominated contracts to SC, ST, and BC minority groups and allocating 50 per cent of all posts to women.
Reiterating that the YSRCP government is committed for the welfare of SCs, STs, BCs, and Minorities, out of the 86 posts, it has decided to give 67 posts to the backward communities.
