Days after receiving a divorce notice from her husband, a doctor along with her son died by suicide by consuming sleeping pills in Rajahmundry in East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh.

East Godavari: Days after receiving a divorce notice from her husband, a doctor along with her son died by suicide by consuming sleeping pills in Rajahmundry in East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh.
Dr. Lavanya (33) and her seven-year-old son Nishanth were found dead in their residence.
According to reports, Lavanya had divorced from her first husband and married Dr. Vamsikrishna from Warangal Town, Telangana, around two years ago. Nishant was her son from the first marriage. Following disputes with her second husband, Lavanya and her son had come to Rajahmundry around three weeks ago and had been staying with her parents, who are also doctors.
A few days ago, she received a divorce notice from her husband. Disturbed over the divorce notice, Lavanya decided to end her life and her son's.
Lavanya's parents alleged that she killed herself and her son unable to tolerate the harassment at the hands of her husband. Based on a complaint from Lavanya's father, the police have registered a case and an investigation is on.
