Rajahmundry: A team of skin specialists examined TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu after he complained of allergy at Central Prison here on Thursday.
A day before, he reported dehydration due to harsh weather conditions.
Initially, the prison medical officer attended to Naidu and recommended examination by specialist doctors from the government general hospital, an official said.
Dr Suryanarayana and Dr Suneetha, assistant professors of dermatology, were asked to treat Naidu. The two doctors examined Naidu and prescribed medicines.
Jail Superintendent Rajkumar said Chandrababuās health condition is stable.
"The HOD examined Naidu and prescribed some medicines," coastal Andhra Pradesh Prisons Deputy Inspector General of Police M R Ravi Kiran said.
He noted that the jail officials provided all the prescribed medicines that the former CM was using.
Naidu has been lodged in Rajamahendravaram Central Prison after he was arrested for allegedly misappropriating funds from the AP Skill Development Corporation, which resulted in a purported loss of over Rs 300 crore to the state exchequer.
