Retired Nellore headmaster who vouched for Anandaiah medicine dies of COVID
A COVID-positive man, who claimed to have been cured after consuming a controversial herbal concoction in Nellore, succumbed on Monday at Government General Hospital in the district.

A former headmaster, Kotaiah was on oxygen support in the ICU for the past one week.Hailing from Kota Mandal in the Nellore district, he had visited Krishnapatnam to try the herbal preparations of Ayurvedic practitioner Bonigi Anandaiah.
In a video that was widely shared on social media and aired by several news channels, Kotaiah had said that he felt a lot better after being administered the eye drops prepared by Anandaiah.
"I was battling for life. I was in the hospital for a week. Now I have recovered completely in two minutes. Doctors will not accept this medicine as they want to earn money," said Kotaiah in the video.

It may be recalled that thousands of people made a beeline to an Ayurveda practitioner at Nellore for the herbal concoction that he claims can cure the deadly infection.
The organizers said they use leaves, honey, pepper, green camphor, nutmeg, black cumin, and cinnamon to prepare medicines. Even they were providing eye drops. Anandaiah distributed the medicine free of cost to the people. Those in critical condition were given eye drops. He said it increases the oxygen level of the patients.
