Visakhapatnam: Arilova Police Station has filed a trespass case against Jana Sena leader Peethala Murty Yadav and his advocate K S Murthy. The case was filed after they visited Rushikonda Resorts on the beach road in Visakhapatnam to assess the leveling works.
Circle Inspector of Arilova Police Station Emanuel Raju said the case was filed following a complaint lodged by an official of AP Tourism Development Corporation.
Both the corporator Murthy Yadav and his advocate KS Murthy visited the Rushikonda Resorts along with the media reporters on Sunday to inspect the damages caused to the hill by the government agencies.
The high court also advised the advocate to personally inspect the damage. But the security personnel objected to their visit and had a heated argument with the visitors.
It may be recalled that corporator and Visakhapatnam East MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu of TDP in separate petitions in the AP High Court alleged that the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change gave permission to use only 5.18 acres of the hill. But the developing agencies leveled more area in violation of CRZ laws, they said. The case is coming up for the next hearing on August 5.
Meanwhile, CPI national secretary K Narayana and his followers were stopped from visiting the Rushikonda Resorts on Monday. They were stopped by police at the entrance of the road leading to the resorts from the Bheemili Beach Road.
``This kind of situation is seen only on the Pakistan border,'' Narayana told reporters after having a heated argument with the senior police officials.
