Sajjala flays TDP; calls Naidu worst villain

Vijayawada: Asserting that Andhra Pradesh is taking all possible steps to check the spread of COVID-19, government advisor (public affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy slammed Opposition leaders for their cheap politics during the pandemic and for creating panic among people with their false propaganda.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, he said that the Opposition leaders have been acting irresponsibly even during a crisis while the state government has been striving to control the spread of the virus with directions from Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy who has been constantly reviewing the situation.

Criticizing TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for creating panic among the people, Sajjala said he has become a non-resident citizen of Andhra Pradesh who is scared to live here while at the same time is falsely making allegations against the state government through Zoom meetings. The top government officials called Mr. Naidu "the worst villain of the state".

Sajjala said that some people had laughed when the Chief Minister had said that coexistence with the coronavirus was inevitable but today it has become a reality. He said that while everyone was extending help and cooperating with the government during the pandemic keeping aside their political differences, Mr. Naidu was engaging in nefarious politics.

Meanwhile, Sajjala said the opinion was divided on lockdown but clarified that imposing lockdown is not an option as it could severely affect the state economy and the lives of daily wage workers and common people.

He also said that vaccinations are taking place across the state but asserted that it is important to take certain precautions even after getting vaccinated. He said the Chief Minister has implemented all the promised welfare schemes recognizing the needs of the people despite the crisis.
