Sajjala Ramakrishna responsible if anything happens to me: MLA Undavalli Sridevi
She blamed the people around Jagan for polluting his mind like “slow poison”
By Newsmeter Network Published on 26 March 2023 10:41 AM GMTHyderabad: Suspended MLA from Tadikonda Undavalli Sridevi lashed out at YSRCP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy and said her life was under threat from the YSRCP. On Sunday, she addressed the media at her residence in Hyderabad and said she will soon give a return gift to those accusing her of selling out in the MLC election.
Sridevi is among the four MLAs who the YSRCP suspended for cross-voting to TDP nominee Panchumarthi Anuradha, who won one of the MLC seats under the MLA quota. Denying the allegations of cross-voting, Sridevi said she was taunted for being a Dalit legislator.
Calling CM Jagan a good-hearted person with values and morals, she blamed the people around him for polluting his mind like “slow poison.”
She said, “My life is in danger from government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy. He will be responsible if anything happened to me. I could never become their proxy in their illegal activities, including indiscriminate sand-mining in the capital region. This is one of the reasons for the party eliminating me from the party.”
She expressed concern that if a Dalit woman legislator is treated like this, what will happen to the common people?
On the issue of cross-voting, Sridevi questioned, “Was anyone sitting under the table when I was voting? Can they prove that I took money to vote against YSRCP? I am ready to take oath on Amaravati soil, Kanipakam Ganapati temple. I challenge the YSRCP people if they can do the same.”
Sridevi said she will petition the National SC Commission against those trolling her on social media. “They are grabbing sand and looting the natural wealth. Who owns the sand reaches in Uddandarayunipalem? The YSRCP leaders were afraid that I would hinder their atrocities and they started a campaign against me from Tadikonda,” said the MLA.
The MLA vowed to fight for the capital of Amaravati and extended her full support to the pro-Amaravati farmers and promised to put her life at stake to fight for it.
‘Better to be a doctor’
Sridevi, who is a gynaecologist, said, “I am a successful gynaecologist, one of the top 10 in Hyderabad. I entered the political arena at the request of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and my father Undavalli Subbarao who wanted me to make a big contribution to society. But now I understand that I was under the illusion that I can serve better through politics rather than in the field of medicine,”
