Come Sankranthi, Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) will operate 6,400 special buses.
The bus services will be from January 6 to 18, 2023. APSRTC also announced a 10 percent discount for passengers who book their return (to and fro) tickets for travel during this period.
A total of 3,120 buses will be operated before the festival, and 3,280 buses will be operated after the festival. These buses will be operated in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
"A total of 3,600 buses will be operated from Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana. 430 buses will be operating from Bengaluru and 150 buses from Chennai. In AP, 800 special buses will be operated from various depots to Vijayawada. These special buses will be plied in addition to the regular services. Tickets can be booked through the official APSRTC portal," APSRTC vice-chairman and managing director Dwaraka Tirumala Rao said.
APSRTC officials said passengers could book tickets through www.apsrtconline.in or the APSRTC app for available seats even after the bus's departure. This season, depot managers, senior officers, and traffic managers will be deputed in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, and other depots to monitor the bus movement. Also, a 24/7 call center (0866-257005) will be set up.
Rao said that the APSRTC services utilization had increased to 68 percent from 63 percent this year.
Last year in November 2021, the corporation revenue was Rs 2,623 crore. This November it has increased to Rs 3,866 crore.
