Arjun Bhati of JP Greens Noida and Rohan Dhole Patil of Pune Golf Club were declared the first and second runners-up, respectively.
Vice Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta, the chief of staff of Eastern Naval Command and the president of East Point Golf Club (EPGC), gave away the prizes to the winners at a ceremony held at EPGC here on Friday.
The maiden AP Amateur Golf Tournament saw 60 golfers from across the country, including five from Visakhapatnam, participating. The event was held from 28 September to 1 October.
Congratulating all participants and the winners, Vice Adm Dasgupta thanked IGU for selecting EPGC for organizing the maiden AP Amateur Golf Championship at Visakhapatnam. He complimented the EPGC organizing committee members for the successful tournament despite heavy rains in the city due to the cyclonic storm Gulab. He highlighted how the club has come up to international standards during the COVID-19 pandemic and is now hosting the first-ever national-level amateur golf championship. He requested IGU to continue its support to EPGC so that the club can host many national-level tournaments in the future.
