Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam 'Vande Bharat Express' set to chug off; school students special invitees
Around 160 students took part in the competitions
By Newsmeter Network Published on 13 Jan 2023 6:43 AM GMTVisakhapatnam: School students will be special invitees at Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat's inaugural run. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually flag off the train on January 15.
Ahead of the inauguration, Waltair Division organized drawing, painting, and elocution for Kendriya Vidyalaya school students. The winners will be special invitees to the inaugural run.
Around 160 students took part in the competitions which were organized under the supervision of ADRM (Infrastructure) Sudhir Kumar Gupta. The topics given were on New World class station, Clean station, Vande Bharat train, and Trespassing and passenger safety.
About Vande Bharat:
This will be India's sixth Vande Bharat express, covering 700 km in 8-9 hours at a maximum commercial speed of 140-150 kmph. It would reduce the travel time to 8.5 hours from 12-14 hours. The train will depart from Vizag at 5.45 am and reach Secunderabad at 2.15 pm. The train will have halts at Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Khammam, and Warrangal. In return direction, the train will depart from Secunderabad at 3 pm, and reach Vizag at 11.30 pm.
Vande Bharat trains are currently running on New Delhi-Varanasi, New Delhi-Katra, Mumbai Central-Gandhinagar, New Delhi-Amb Andaura, and MGR Chennai Central-Mysuru routes.
