Seven people killed in two separate road accidents in Anantapur
In a series of tragic incidents, seven people were killed in separate road accidents in Anantapur district on Friday morning.

In the first incident, a speeding truck rammed into an auto-rickshaw on NH-44 near the Mandal Revenue Office (MRO) at Pamidi, killing five farm labourers. The police said the 13 labourers in the auto were from Koppalagonda village in Garladinne mandal. They were on their way to work in the fields at Kottalapalli village under Peddavaduguru mandal.
The auto-rickshaw was completely smashed. The police said five women were killed on the spot while eight others sustained grievous injuries. With the support of the locals the cops took the injured persons to the nearby government general hospital and later shifted the bodies of the victims for post-mortem.
The deceased were identified as Subbamma, Sankaramma, Nagaveni, Savitri, and Chowdamma.
Meanwhile, two people were killed in another road accident at Midthuru in Peddavaduguru mandal of Anantapur district on Friday. A speeding car mowed down and killed Yakub (62) and Narayana (60) on the spot.
The two belonged to Yedururu village in Pamidi mandal. The police have registered a case and started an investigation.
