For the next two days, severe heatwave condition is likely to prevail in eight mandals and heatwaves in 93 mandals. The heatwave will continue up to 4.30 p.m.

Severe heatwave warning for AP for next 3 days, Mercury to reach 32-40 degrees Celsius

Hyderabad: It's only March but the residents of Andhra Pradesh are already experiencing severe heat conditions as the state records temperatures 3-4°Celsius above normal. The India Meteorological Department has issued a severe heatwave alert in the state. Due to strong dry winds from Telangana, temperatures across many parts of Andhra Pradesh are expected to reach 40-32°Celsius.

According to IMD, in the last 24 hours, severe heatwave conditions prevailed in three mandals of Visakhapatnam district while heatwaves prevailed in 43 mandals, reporting temperatures of 40°Celsius. On Thursday, some mandals in Vizainagaram, Krishna, East Godavari, and Guntur districts also saw a heatwave.

For the next two days, severe heatwave condition is likely to prevail in eight mandals and heatwaves in 93 mandals. The heatwave will continue up to 4.30 p.m. Children and elderly people are advised to take precautions to avoid sunstroke.
