Guntur: Protests rocked Guntur after six security guards were allegedly electrocuted at Lankevani Dibba village under Repalle Mandal on Friday.

Locals said six persons from Odisha had come to Guntur in search of livelihood a few months ago. They were working as security guards at a shrimp tank.

Locals suspect that they might have got an electric shock while operating the pump set on Friday. They were shifted to the hospital where all of them were declared brought dead.

Based on the information, police reached the spot. Police suspect that the workers died of electrocution as there were burn injuries on their bodies.

Police said a short circuit might have been the reason for the tragic death.
