Srikakulam Panchayat Officer arrested, assets worth Rs. 1.38 Cr unearthed

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Panchayat Officer of Ranasthalam Mandal after unearthing disproportionate assets worth Rs. 1.38 crores.

Visakhapatnam: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Panchayat Officer of Ranasthalam Mandal after unearthing disproportionate assets worth Rs. 1.38 crores.

Identified as Aguru Venkata Rao, 52, he was posted as Panchayat Officer at Ranasthalam Mandal in Srikakulam.

The accused was produced before the Special Court for SPE & ACB cases, Visakhapatnam.

Searches were conducted at his office at Pydibheemavaram and residence at Visakhapatnam.

ACB also conducted searches at his relatives' places in Arasada, Vangara Mandal and Tangudubilli village.

He was appointed as Panchayat Secretary in 1995. He was holding Additional Charge of Extension Officer, Panchayat Raj, and Rural Development.

ACB unearthed assets in the name of the accused and his family members. These include one flat on the second floor of R.K Residency at Naidu colony, Vizianagaram. Three open sites at Visakhapatnam. One open site at Srikakulam and 6 open sites at Vizianagaram.
