Strengthen e- cropping so that farmers are compensated: Jagan

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed the officials to strengthen e- cropping so that farmers are compensated for losses.

During the review meeting, the Chief Minister said the digital receipt of the e crop should be directly sent to the farmers' cell phones. It will allow farmers to review them and help authorities in preparing SOPs.

He said the responsibility for the e-cropping process should be shared by VRO, survey assistant, and agriculture assistant. Master register with data of lands being cultivated village should also be made available to them.

The e-cropping will start on 15 June and end in August. Geo tagging and uploading photographs will be done in e-cropping.

CM said the social audit should start in the first week of September and the lists should be displayed at Village and Ward Secretariats. Higher officials will review e-cropping every 15 days. Mandal and district-level officers will inspect the process.

"There should be no involvement of millers in paddy procurement and it should be done through RBKs", said Jagan.

He asserted that the responsibility of paddy procurement and payment of money to farmers lies with Civil Supplies Department. After procurement, it should be weighed at another weigh bridge and a receipt should be given to farmers so that they will get a minimum support price (MSP).
