Stunt biking: 85 identified; 73 motorcycles seized in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: Police have identified 85 stunt bikers and seized 73 motorcycles in Vizag. Around 300 youngsters had resorted to stunt biking on the night of July 9, creating panic in the city.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, East Division, Harsihita, and a team of police officials summoned the parents of these youngsters and counseled them at the Three Town police station on Thursday.
Police said parents were told about the dangers involved in the racing and stunts which could also harm pedestrians and others on two-wheelers.
Police said they have stepped up surveillance and identified youngsters involved in the racing and stunts in the city. "We have also identified the places where they are organizing these adventure riding. There was no racing and stunts last Saturday and Sunday in the city," police said.
Police said most of the bike riders belonged to middle and lower-middle-class families. Thirty of them were students. Police said they were specifically told that their career and employment opportunities would be harmed if the cases were booked and convicted.
