`Task master' G Palaraju takes over as Vijayawada police commissioner
G Palaraju, who was serving as DIG technical services in the office of Director General of Police (DGP), was appointed in-charge Vijayawada police commissioner.

This follows the retirement of incumbent commissioner B Srinivasulu.
G Palaraju, who was serving as DIG technical services in the office of Director General of Police (DGP), was appointed in-charge Vijayawada police commissioner.
It may be recalled that Palaraju had earlier worked as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Vijayawada, DIG (Visakha Range) in Vizag, and Vizianagaram police chief. He dealt with many sensational cases during his tenure and acquired the name `task master' within the department.
Palaraju is instrumental in designing and implementing the Disha app. He took the charge on Tuesday evening from Srinivasulu.
Earlier during the day, the city police force bid a grand farewell to Srinivasulu with a ceremonial parade. Srinivasulu, who started his career at Nandigama in the Krishna district, worked at various places in the combined state of Andhra Pradesh.
Incidentally, he also retired in the Krishna district as commissioner of Vijayawada. Srinivasulu worked as commissioner of Vijayawada twice in his career.
A farewell function was held at commissionerate office in the evening. Ministers Vellampalli Srinivas, Perni Nani, MLAs Vallabhaneni Vamshi, Malladi Vishnu, Mayor Rayana Bhagya Lakshmi, and other officials participated in the programme.
