`TDP should shut its shop in AP': Jagan's YSRCP sweeps MPTC, ZPTC polls

Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said YSR Congress Party swept MPTC and ZPTC elections and this victory is seen as a vote for good governance

The Minister said TDP, with the help of former SEC, has indulged in several political conspiracies in regard to local body polls. He said former SEC had postponed local body polls citing Covid to favor TDP.

He said the results of Panchayat and Municipal Polls made it clear that people are not supporting TDP He said TDP has won only two MPTC seats in Kuppam Mandal, the home turf of Chandrababu Naidu. He said YSRCP sympathizers won 74 of the 89 panchayats in Kuppam.

Speaking at a press conference at the party central office in Tadepalli, Minister Anil Kumar Yadav said people have trusted the good governance of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and it is reflected in the resolute mandate being given by people in all elections.

He said TDP had anticipated the results and thus staged a drama to boycott. He said they didn't even have candidates to file nominations. He said BCs, SCs, STs, and Minorities are with the Chief Minister because of his good governance.

In a separate media conference at the party central office, Agriculture Minister Kurusala Kannababu said that the winning streak of YSRCP has been continuing.

He said the party has received eighty percent positive vote in the past and now it will go beyond that, as people have welcomed the good governance of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said TDP leader Atchannaidu's words have come true that their party will vanish. He flayed TDP for falsely propagating that YSRCP has won because it had boycotted the polls. The Minister reminded that the opposition had participated in the elections, gave B-forms to the contestants, and campaigned.

Speaking to media at party central office, Government Advisor (Social Justice) Jupudi Prabhakar said that people have always chosen Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who took governance to the doorstep by bringing the volunteer system.

"No matter how many conspiracies and intrigues TDP does, people are behind YSRCP," he said.

He said Chandrababu Naidu avoided conducting local body elections back in 2018 and had never received favorable results in direct elections.

MLA Ambati Rambabu said it is a humiliating defeat for Chandrababu Naidu as TDP lost its presence in Kuppam and Chandragiri constituencies. He said TDP should better shut its shop in the State. He said Naidu didn't conduct local body polls during his regime due to the fear of losing. He said Naidu should understand that people have been clearly rejecting him and it's proved again through MPTC and ZPTC results.
