A Zee News report claiming that Mumbai ATS raided a terror shelter in Guntur, AP, has gone viral. However, AP DGP clarified that no such raids have taken place in Guntur and the news about a terror hideout being uncovered is false.

Terror hideout in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur? No, AP DGP confirms viral news report is false

Hyderabad: Following the deadly car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10, a Zee News report claiming that a terrorist shelter has been found in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur has gone viral.

An X user shared the ‘breaking news’ video clipping with the caption: “Major Terrorist hideout busted in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur by Mumbai ATS along with Intelligence and local police; few detained, incriminating material seized, investigation ongoing.”(Archive)

However, Andhra Pradesh police have clarified that the information is false. Speaking to NewsMeter, Harish Kumar Gupta, Director General of Police (DGP) of Andhra Pradesh said, “No such raids have taken place in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh and the news about a terror hideout being uncovered is false.”

The Delhi blast, which occurred near the Red Fort metro station on Monday evening, killed eight people and injured several others, prompting a high security alert in the national capital.
