 On the directions of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the Board earmarked Rs 118.89 crore to strengthen TTD-run educational institutions

Tirumala: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board, chaired by BR Naidu, has approved a massive budget outlay of Rs 5,456.26 crore for the financial year 2026–27, with a strong thrust on education, infrastructure, security enhancement and improved facilities for devotees.

Addressing the media at Annamayya Bhavan in Tirumala along with the Executive Officer and other board members, the Chairman detailed key decisions taken during the meeting.

Focus on education

In line with the directions of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the Board earmarked Rs 118.89 crore to strengthen TTD-run educational institutions.

The allocation will be utilised for:

- Establishment of digital classrooms

- Construction of additional hostel blocks

- Modernisation of kitchens

- Upgradation of institutional infrastructure

The move aims to enhance academic standards and improve student facilities.

‘Srivari Mudupu Patram’ scheme

To make vow offerings more convenient, TTD will introduce the “Srivari Mudupu Patram Scheme” on a pilot basis.

Under the initiative, devotees can make payments through UPI at designated counters and receive a Mudupu receipt, which can be directly offered into the Hundi.

The system is expected to reduce the need for carrying cash and coins.

Modern Annaprasadam complex

The Board approved the construction of an additional Annaprasadam complex equipped with a state-of-the-art kitchen in Tirumala.

A donation of Rs 100–120 crore has been proposed by Reliance Industries Limited for the project, which will incorporate advanced cooking technology to cater to the growing number of pilgrims.

SRIVANI trust guidelines revised

The Board cleared modifications to the SRIVANI Trust guidelines, taking into account the rising costs of temple structures such as prakarams and Rajagopurams. The revisions aim to ensure better financial planning for temple infrastructure projects.

Vontimitta temple developments

At Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple, the Board approved Rs 20.17 crore for the construction of a Dry Island to install a 108-foot Jambavantha statue.

For the annual Brahmotsavams, free Tirumala Srivari Laddu Prasadam will be distributed to nearly 70,000 devotees attending the Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam on April 1.

Additionally, Rs 4.25 crore has been sanctioned for electrical illumination, public address systems and LED display arrangements.

Launch of ‘Akshara Govindam’

An Aksharabhyasam programme titled Akshara Govindam will be launched at the Vakulamatha Temple, promoting traditional initiation into education for children.

Major security strengthening measures

In view of increasing pilgrim footfall, the Board approved the deployment of 356 security personnel in Tirupati and 371 in Tirumala through the Army Welfare Placement Organisation.

Other key security measures include:

- Installation of X-ray baggage scanners and Door Frame Metal Detectors at Alipiri at a cost of Rs 8 crore

- Establishment of a Command and Control Centre in Tirupati with an outlay of Rs 10.75 crore to monitor security at TTD temples, guest houses, educational institutions and hospitals across the country

Other key approvals

As much as Rs 11.28 crore for development works at TTD Goshalas and the Sri Venkateswara Incubation Centre at Palamaner

Proposal to the Government for promotion of 51 Paricharakas as Archakas

As much as Rs 14.25 crore for the construction of Sri Venkateswara Divya Kshetram in Parvathipuram Manyam district

Approval for cement roads, drainage and development works around Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple

Warning against false social media content

TTD cautioned that strict legal action would be initiated against individuals spreading false and misleading information about Tirumala on social media platforms, stating that such content hurts the sentiments of devotees.
