TTD to construct two pilgrim centers for Rs 600 crore; build Srivari temple in Mumbai

By Newsmeter Network Published on 6 Sep 2023 2:39 AM GMTTirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has decided to construct two pilgrim amenities centers (PAC) for Rs 600 crore in Tirupati town.
'Achyutham' and 'Sripatham' can accommodate nearly 20,000 pilgrims and replace the existing seven-decade-old facilities behind the Tirupati railway station, said an official.
Further, the board chaired by Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, resolved to build another Srivari temple in Bandra (Mumbai) at an outlay of Rs 1.65 crore and an information center for Rs 5 crore. It will be funded from the money donated by TTD Trust board members.
At a meeting, the board approved the construction of a temple for folk Goddess Moolasthana Ellamma in Chandragiri for Rs 2 crore. It also sanctioned Rs 49 crore to repair TTD employees' quarters.
TTD, the official custodian of Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirupati, has allocated Rs 33 crore for constructing roads and other facilities near the housing sites allotted to the temple body's employees at Padiredu Aranyam village.
The board has also sought the state government's approval to fill 413 vacancies of priests and others.
TTD has decided to provide a VIP Break Darshan facility to youth of 25 years and below along with their families who write "Govinda Koti" in Ramakoti style. One-time Darshan facility will also be provided to those (below 25 years) who write Govinda Namavali 10,01,116 times.
TTD will also distribute One crore copies of Bhagavad Gita books to students of LKG to PG.
TTD condemns anti-Sanatana Dharma statements
TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy condemned anti Sanatana Dharma statement by Tamilnadu Minister Udayanidhi Stalin.
He said Sanatana Dharma is not a religion but a lifestyle and is not related to any one particular caste or sect. He said comments from people holding such high positions on Sanatana dharma are unwarranted and inappropriate. He said these remarks would hurt the sentiments of people and disturb the peace in society.
