Ugadi greetings from CM Naidu: Honouring Telugu heritage and vision for AP’s growth
Amaravati: Maintaining that a poverty-free society is his life ambition, chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said on Sunday that the P-4 programme is being launched as part of achieving that objective.
Wishing that the Sri Vishwavasu Telugu New Year brightens and brings fresh happiness into the lives of all, the chief minister felt that the culture and traditions of the country are unique. Marking the Ugadi celebrations, CM Chandrababu participated in a program organised by the State Government at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada. After performing a special pooja on the occasion, the chief minister participated in the panchanga sravanam.
“On the auspicious occasion of Ugadi, I have inaugurated Margadarsi-Bangaru Kutumbam and Zero Poverty-P-4. Wealth should come to the rescue of the poor to bring them financial stability. Education and health should be available for everyone,” the chief minister said.
‘Honouring history is important’
After releasing the panchangams, the chief minister felt that if people forget history, they will lose their very existence. Recalling his childhood days and how all the villagers sit together for panchanga sravanam, CM Chandrababu said that the Avadhana Kendram, Annamayya Kshetram and Silpakala Vedika were constructed in the Hi-Tech City of Hyderabad only to ensure that the people would not ignore the age-old traditions of the country.
“Also, Ugadi celebrations at AP Bhavan in New Delhi and Potti Sriramulu Memorial Trust in Chennai are being held by the State Government. As the world is witnessing fast changes, fresh innovations must continue to take place in this competitive world,” the chief minister said. The chief minister is of the firm opinion that everyone should go for smart work instead of hard work.
‘More power to Telugus’
Maintaining that he is proud of Telugus as they have earned twice of the income of Americans in just a matter of 25 years, CM Chandrababu Naidu said “Me along with prime minister, Narendra Modi, and my friend, deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan, always feel that both the nation and the State should prosper. I pray to God to give the power to Telugus to lead the country when our nation is on top in the whole world,” he said.
Expressing concern that the State has lost its glory for full five years during the previous government’s rule, he said that the situation was so bad that people could not happily share their views sitting together. “I have never experienced in my political career the kinds of problems created by the previous regime,” the chief minister said.
Next step in IT evolution
CM Chandrababu said that Rs 3.22 lakh crore budgetary proposals were presented this year and wished that the revenue of the people should grow, as a result of which their living standards, too, will improve, making them happy and healthy. Recalling that he built the Hi-Tech City at that time to promote IT due to which thousands of youth got jobs, he said that all of them are now settled either in the country or abroad, keeping their parents happy.
“I have promoted IT then and now I am talking about AI and Quantum Valley. Similarly, when I promoted mobile phones at that time, some people made fun of it. The situation now is that we cannot move forward without cell phones. If these cell phones are properly used radical changes can be witnessed in life. But problems will arise if it becomes an addiction,” Chandrababu maintained.
He believed that wealth should not be confined to a few and formation of an egalitarian society is possible only when everyone enjoys a better standard of living. No one, including NT Rama Rao, Mahatma Gandhi and Dr BR Ambedkar, was ever born great. They all became great personalities by taking advantage of the available opportunities, he remarked.
Maintaining that whatever decisions have been taken in these nine months all have been taken with the motto of People First to continue the governance, the chief minister said on the one hand welfare and development are being extended and on the other investments are being invited to the State. Recalling that he had earlier introduced ‘Prajalavaddaku Palan’, he said that now WhatsApp governance has been introduced to serve the people so that they need not make rounds to government offices.
On this occasion, the chief minister gave away awards to various persons for their service in different sectors. Kala Ratna awards for 86 persons and Ugadi Awards for 116 persons were distributed.
